The November/December 1998 issue of International Figure Skating had a brief article on Jayson in the Canadian Crosscuts section. There was a photo of Jayson from Skate America 1997. It describes a back injury he had over the summer that kept him off the ice for a month. He started skating again in August. He was interviewed for the article and also mentions that the CFSA nominated him for Cup of Russia but the ISU rejected him, feeling he lacked experience.
