I had a terrific time last wednesday at La soirée du patin!!!! I finally saw Jayson for the first time of my life and he was so great!

The show was pretty much as you told me but there was one more skater: Jean-Francois Hébert (4th at Canadians this year). It was a surprise, I didn't know that he was on the show, he wasn't even on the program! He skated a number on a jazzy music and landed a beautiful triple-axel right in front of me!

Josée was really on that night; she skated beautifully her 2 numbers (the violin one and Shania Twain). She landed a perfect triple-loop, a triple-sal and a couple of triple-toes and double-axels. She looked very happy and really in shape.

Jean-Michel and Michelle also skated well, especially their second number that was almost perfect (they doubled the throw triple-sal) and very artistic. I saw an article on the newspaper that said that it was the performance of the night but I don't really agree (Jayson was more on my mind of course!!)

Every time Jayson stepped on the ice, all the girls in the building were screaming as if it was Kurt or Elvis! I was really surprise, I didn't know that he was that popular. I thought that I was the only one to like him.... The first number he skated to was "Laisse-moi t'aimer" from the Mercedes band. (The song says: Let me love you, all night long....) ;) Of course, all the girls were crazy!! Not me, I was busy taking pictures! He landed a beautiful triple-lutz, a triple-toe but he fell on a double-axel( I think he wanted to do a triple, he isn't afraid of anything..) All the steps were great and I personnally loved the spread eagle at the end and the back flip!!! The second number was also very good, except maybe for the shirt!! :) Again, he had trouble with his triple-axel (he fell) but the rest was perfect. I thought that he was really communicating with the audience even if he doesn't have a lot of show experience. He really looked relax and seemed to have fun!

The rest of the cast( the local skaters) wasn't very impressive except a little 8 year-old-boy who skated on Bruce Lee story dressed exactly like Elvis. It was cute!

At the closing number, Jayson singled his axel and looked a bit angry at himself. But he did the backflip again! After, the skaters threw t-shirts to the crowd and I caught one that Jean-Michel threw!! I was really happy! After that all the skaters left the ice, Jayson was still there and he did another backflip (the 4th one) for the crowd!! He's really outstanding!!
